Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur is one of the top Engineering and Research institute in India. It was established as a result of the efforts of visionary Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, the 1st Prime Minister of India, who dreamt of taking India to the helm of technological and all round development. Thus on the account of his initiative, a consortium of 9 top US universities namely M.I.T, University of California, Berkeley, California Institute of Technology, Princeton University, Carnegie Institute of Technology, University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Case Institute Of Technology and Purdue University helped set up the institute in 1959.

 

Over the years, IIT Kanpur has evolved into the favorite destination for the brightest students in India for Undergraduate and Post-Graduate education, which are admitted through exams often quoted as the toughest and the most selective entrance exams throughout the world. Thus, IIT Kanpur has figured out as the leading Engineering Institute several times in lists of top colleges prepared by prestigious magazines like India Today.

 

IIT Kanpur also leads in the Science and Research Sector with its cutting edge research facilities.
